The Bakken Trio

Experience live classical music through new ears and eyes with this unique collaboration between Z Puppets and the Bakken Trio. Each FREE hour-long event will stand alone as a complete experience — or try them all!

Explore the life and music of Czech composer and Holocaust victim Pavel Haas with Listening Parties at the East Side Freedom Library (1105 Greenbrier St., Saint Paul, MN, 55106).

Each Listening Party features:

1. insights from The Bakken Trio of key details of the music

2. toy theater presentation by Z Puppets of the life of Pavel Haas

3. live performance by The Bakken Trio of one movement of Haas' From the Mountains, while Z Puppets leads “visual listening” drawing activities.

Z Puppets will bring the audiences responses into the puppetry design for the full performances of all four movements, premiering May 31 at East Side Freedom Library and then again on June 7 at Shir Tikvah Synagogue (5000 Girard Ave S., Minneapolis, MN, 55419).

Recommended for ages 10 to adult.
