Laughter Lab Session Overview
Session 1-3
Team building (theater games and improv exercises to build participants' comfort and trust of each other and the teaching artists) Exploring Humor (Artists lead the participants' in comic techniques including joke swaps, laughter yoga, clowning) Creating comic interviews (participants work in small groups to develop 3-minute interviews that they can use to collect audio of Maplewood laughter) Reflection What did you discover about trying out these different techniques of humor?
Session 4
Rehearsal of Comic Interviews (each group tries out comic interview on the other groups' and practice audio recording each other's laughter) Reflection, Evaluation, Revision of Plan What did you discover about using these techniques of humor to try to get people to laugh? Session 5
Rehearsal of Comic Interviews (Students invite family members to the session to practice audio recording of laughter) Reflection, Evaluation, Revision of Plan What new discoveries did you make about doing the comic interviews and audio recording laughter?

Comic Interviews (students do comic interviews and audio recording of laughter of people on the workshop site) Reflection What makes people laugh? How does that change from person to person?
